Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former number one, has endured a torrid year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former mentor Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden championship since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court since that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates he has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one different competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," said world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an improved service.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the final five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour victory, took control to force a final set.

The opponent rescued four initial opportunities in a tight third set before the Russian broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he clinched victory with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
