From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of characters who will separate from the primary party to begin their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his own means, entering the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could help the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
